Yes it sounds too good to be true but it isn’t –  you can market your business for free. This is great for businesses of all sizes and especially helpful for start ups and small business owners.

Here are 10 ways to get you marketing your business without investing anything but some of your time.

  1. Contact networking groups and ask if you can go for a “free visit” to check it out
  2. Follow up on old enquiries that haven’t yet converted – add a special offer into the mix
  3. List in some relevant directories such as Hot Frog (see here for 10 Free Listings you should be listed in)
  4. Become an “authority” in your industry and write articles about a range of topics then submit them to the media (subscribe for free media alerts by Source Bottle)
  5. Start your own blog using free templates from WordPress
  6. Start a Twitter account and link to your blog entries or website articles/specials
  7. List a special for all your Twitter and/or Facebook followers and make sure you track its success and have an end date
  8. Ask your current clients to refer you
  9. Start affiliations with other businesses e.g. a hairdresser and beautician can have each others flyers at reception
  10. Subscribe to blogs and join forums then comment on the articles (with a link back to your website)
